Chakra Balance - Using hand positions

Before I begin discussing this area, I would like to point out that many people are uncomfortable with physical contact.  Although the exercises described below read as if you are in contact with the patient, please do not assume that physical contact is
a) necessary
b) wanted

After all, what is the point of trying to balance chakras if you are going to unbalance the psyche?  So, ask first, or just place your hands a few inches above the position of each chakra.

Although you may wish to work only one one particular chakra, as there is a problem in that area, I suggest that you start with a full chakra balance, and then spend more time on the chakra that is the site of the problem. Feel free to engage your intuition and inner wisdom as to where you should put your hands.  This exercise can be practiced on yourself or with a partner. I find lying down is the most comfortable for me.

*Both hands on the heart chakra (if doing the balance on a female, place hands a few inches above the heart chakra). Stay for as long as you feel the energy flow (could be a minute to a few minutes, five minutes should be plenty)

*Next position - One hand on the heart chakra - other hand on the root chakra (whether male of female, hand is a few inches above the root chakra) Again, as long as you feel the energy flow

*Next position - One hand on the heart chakra - other hand on the solar plexus

*Next position - One hand on the heart chakra - other hand on the third eye.

*Next position - One hand on the heart chakra - other hand on the throat chakra (I've found most people prefer hand a few inches above! A lot of people have been hung or beheaded in past lives, and can become quite distressed at feeling a hand of their throats)

Next position - One hand on the heart chakra - other hand on the crown chakra.

The purpose of the constant contact with the heart chakra throughout the course of the treatment is for the following reasons: first, it is the central chakra on the midline, and is also the focal point of the thymus gland which is the key to our immune system. Second, the heart is the center for unconditional love, including self-love. With this basic chakra balance you cover all chakras equally and, if you wish, you may no work on a selected chakra. If your partner tells you which chakra to choose, treat it according to his or her request. But also be aware of what your intuition tells you; you may offer to give extra attention to
another chakra as well.

You can combine any one of the chakras with another. All chakras are equally important, so if one is out of balance it will affect the energy system as a whole. Trust your inner guidance and you will put your hands where they are needed most.
